Pink Floyd - Meddle (Limited Deluxe Edition) 2018 | BUTTERBOY

Pink Floyd - Meddle (Limited Deluxe Edition) [2018] (4 x CDs)

Now I love Meddle and it was the last studio album I bought for reasons seen here as I agree with Butterboy that it is the last album showing the cross over from truly experimental psychedelic (for want of a better term) to prog rock1! This is where they left me standing in the shadows of Syd. This though is a treat and remastered to perfection and any Floyd fan who doesn’t have this is missing a treat . . . . .

PINK FLOYD

MEDDLE

Pink Floyd’s Meddle has long been considered a turning point in the band’s evolution, bridging their early psychedelic sound with the progressive rock mastery that would define their later years. The Limited Deluxe Edition (2018) brings a fresh perspective to this classic album, offering high-resolution remasters and rare outtakes that deepen the listening experience.

One of the standout features of this edition is the quad mix of "Echoes", a track that has always been a sonic journey in itself. The remaster enhances the atmospheric layers, making the song feel even more immersive. Additionally, the inclusion of live performances from Cleveland (1971), Hollywood Bowl (1972), and Earls Court (1973) showcases the band's ability to transform their studio work into electrifying stage moments.

Meddle is a true group endeavor, with each member of Pink Floyd actively shaping its sound and direction.

Beyond the music, this edition is a collector’s dream. With only 300 numbered copies, it’s a rare gem that fans and audiophiles alike would treasure. The packaging and liner notes provide insight into the album’s creation, offering a glimpse into the band's creative process during this pivotal era.

For those who have loved Meddle for decades, this edition is a chance to hear it anew, with enhanced clarity and depth. And for newcomers, it’s an opportunity to experience Pink Floyd at a moment when they were refining their sound, setting the stage for masterpieces like The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.
