On a day where we lose another favourite in the wonderful Alan Rickman, an actor who was exactly the same age as David Bowie, 69, we feel like we are still reeling and now more so. Alan endeared from his theatre work for which he was well known to his wonderful film performances from 'Truly Madly Deeply' to 'Die Hard' baddy 'Hans Gruber', the highly understated "subtly" of his Sheriff of Nottingham in 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves' to the eerie Severus Snape of course in all the Harry Potter films. He will be much much missed and we send our heartfelt condolences to his wife and family.

There are more bootlegs of Live Bowie emerging in the websites I wander around and today has some exceptional examples available but not commercially available (ROIO - Recordings of Indeterminate Origin if you will)

I spotted this wonderful illustration and it again made me wonder if David knew something of how much it would have such peculiar resonances after his death. . . . . . .?

Someone has made available the Rykodisc tracks which were added to releases when they took over DB's back catalogue a practice that entices those who had bought originals and to make them buy them all over again by adding a couple of rare tracks a practice I despise but understand of course. Understand I am not making these available but they are out there and worth pursuing . . . . . .
