Things we are listening to . . . . . . .

. . . . . missed posting links to the breathtaking Laura Marling at the 'Celtic Connections' concert from Glasgow and believe me this is a treat. If you wish to be transported away from the world at the moment try this concert set with the BBC's Scottish Symphony Orchestra from earlier in January this year. It is a thing of wonder and very fine concert indeed. Not least for including two previous favourites Cara Dillon and Declan O'Rourke, the others I am ashamed to say I don't think I knew but the Marling set is quite quite extraordinary - as is she!

Laura Marling & Friends - Celtic Connections

Big O says:

Celtic Connections opening night: Glasgow’s winter celebration of music from the Celtic world and beyond opens in grand style. Kathryn Tickell is at the city’s Royal Concert Hall to introduce a performance by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley, joined by leading artists from this year’s festival, including Scotland’s Karine Polwart, Rachel Sermanni and Adam Holmes, Saharawi singer Aziza Brahim, Cara Dillon and Declan O’Rourke from Ireland plus, for the whole of the second half, English singer-songwriter Laura Marling. Introduced by Kathryn Tickell.
