more beatles . . . . .

I found these pictures of the Beatles visiting America for the first time in 1964 and suddenly realised a cruel, or saddest, irony . . . . . . . . in the back ground is the Dakota building where John and Yoko would live when they moved to the USA and where, of course, John was shot in 1980

behind John here in '64 is the building where he would live and be eventually murdered by a deranged fan*

framed here by Paul's hands, the Dakota building skyline

here behind Paul's armpit, the Dakota

The Beatles at Central Park in New York during a sightseeing tour, on their first visit to the US of A February 1964.
[n.b. George Harrison is missing, back at the Plaza Hotel suffering from a sore throat.]

* I do not name John Lennon's murderer as a point of principle . . . . . . . . .

"Don’t forget to express your love to your loved ones every day. If for some reason they are in such a distance you feel you possibly can’t, just send a strong vibration and they will get it. It actually doesn’t need to be strong. Just real." a recent Yoko tweet . . . . . .
