“I was expecting a drug crazed rock n’ roll monster with an out-sized ego to match but David was as gentle and sweet as could be. When I was blue, he’d surprise me with ridiculously huge bouquets of flowers and a little note, ‘These flowers are ugly compared to you… cherish, David’. He’s so much in love with life. We had so much fun shooting that movie. He’s a brilliant artist, and I believe an actor who loves music and song and poetry, playing a rock star. I don’t think he takes rock n’ roll that seriously.”
