My guilty secret of enjoying Poldark (not so secret now eh? ED) is broken to bring you this from the Radio Times. Thanks to PopBitch for the heads up on this one but I recently found that the ghastly vile creep, reverend 'Osbourne Whitworth' actor Chris Brassington is a thoroughly nice bloke universally liked and has gone to some quite extraordinary lengths to get into character (wherefore now Bobby 'Raging Bull' De Niro? ha ha)
One of the Poldark cast got painted to look like a pig for his sex scenes
Of course like my enjoyment of 'Versailes' it is all purely my interest in history and nothing at all to do with the revealing love scenes (a toe sucking vile cleric anyone!?) and my interest in the delightful Eleanor Tomlinson, Gabriella Wilde, the mesmerising Elise Chappell as Whitworth's long suffering wife and Heida Reed against Jack Farthing's excellent Warlegan, power broker 'baddy' and Ross' rival bar none, are all in the interests of good story telling of course
Oh, Aiden is very good too! and also seems a thoroughly nice fellah although Mariella Frostrup has complained it's a bit too top shelf for her and the double standard sexism of a topless Ross proved too much for her.
Poor dear!
Eloise Chappell
Gabriella Wilde
the peerless Eleanor Tomlinson
Heida Reed
Josh Whitehouse
No ageism here please we have loved the work of Beattie Edney for a while
Jack I have enjoyed ever since Freddie Threepwood in Blandings but boy is Warleggan a different role and as a baddie it is great to see him able to smile aha ha ha
