Patti Smith - Dancing Barefoot Live 2019 - FLOPPY BOOT STOMP from Jobe

PATTI SMITH - DANCING BAREFOOT LIVE

FLOPPY BOOT STOMP

Dancing Barefoot Live 2019 - Floppy Boot Stomp here . . .

A beauty from Jobe over at Floppy Boot Stomp HQ this morning and great quality and I always enjoy more Patti ( I have a ton down in the basement!) Scant info with his one but Patti was very active around then undertaking a massive world tour of the States, Europe and The Antipodes. This is a fantastic set and well worth collecting I assume being labelled Big Apple this is the New York gig but there are videos of many concerts around the world not least Paris and the gig in April in New York featured Michael Stipe as support, whereas Tom Verlaine features on guitar here on Wing and he accompanied her in Spain too! Whatever the case or venue this is really enjoyable and eminently playable.

UPDATE:

Jobe over at HQ asked about this item and had scant info but I found it over at Big O (sic!) and must have had it before but this is an awesome concert set and really worth downloading

There is controversy about the "infamous" Hamburg gig and Big O says:

PATTI SMITH

Hamburg FM 1996 [Cult Legends, 1CD]

Live at the Musikhalle, Hamburg, Germany; August 1, 1996. Very good FM broadcast. Incomplete show.

Patti performed for the last time as the Patti Smith Group on 10 September 1979 at the Stadio Comunale in Florence, Italy. She was on stage for part of a benefit concert in Detroit 1980 and except for a few poetry readings in 1981 would not appear live again until a two-song performance with her husband Fred ‘Sonic’ Smith, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Arista Records in 1990.

A benefit show in 1991 for AIDS followed and also an appearance in Central Park during 1993 but it wasn’t until 1995 that Patti again took the stage regularly. She ended the year supporting and appearing as a guest on Bob Dylan’s ‘Paradise Lost tour’ and was accompanied by original PSG band members Lenny Kaye, Jay Dee Daugherty with the addition of Tony Shanahan, Oliver Ray and Tom Verlaine.

This same line-up would perform in 1996 on Patti’s first European tour in seventeen years. The tour promoted Patti’s sixth album ‘Gone Again’ released in June 1996. This Hamburg show on 1st August was broadcast on German FM radio and the recording showcases a stunning performance with crystal clear sound and a superbly balanced stereo mix.

+ + + + +the Big O version is still available to download there and should you prefer you can download it from there (why would you?) but the version Jobe has made available from House of Humbug is perfectly serviceable and just as fine quality

here . . . .

Big O version here . . .

I grant you one concession and that is the cover that Big O have made available

so here it is

Patti Smith - People Have The Power - Live (Check-In Party 2019)

Beds Are Burning (Midnight Oil) - The Met 2019

Choir, Choir Choir with Stewart Copeland 'People Have The Power' choral!

On April 13, 2019, Patti Smith + Stewart Copeland (on percussion) joined Choir! Choir! Choir! at Onassis Festival 2019: Democracy Is Coming, co-presented by The Public Theatre and Onassis USA. Together, we sang Patti Smith's anthem "People Have The Power" with a sold-out crowd and Stewart Copeland played percussion, specially a Brazilian samba frying pan!

  1. You know Andy, the place I got this from had no info on this show. So anything you can add would be greatly helpful.

  2. You know Jobe I hunted high and low and didn't really come up with anything!
Its really hard as she come out on a world tour in overdrive and played twice in NY that year alone! All over the world too; UK, Europe, the French Paris concert is legendary and on Youtube, well much of it, and there are tracks from Spain and Italy. The only way to pin it down any further would be track listings plus checking her dialogue with the audience but that's a whole lotta work. I gave up and just enjoyed the set which is truly great!
Thanks for dropping by as ever my friend

  3. UPDATE:
For Jobe - I found the set over at Big O which is quite ironic really, so it was staring me in the face all the time but I share the info and the covers from there. The download over there is exactly the same to my ears but is still readily available there.
