ZERO G SOUNDS :: Jackie MITTOO, MATCHING MOLE et al [Albums of the week]

Some interesting posts over at Zero G Sounds (as per usual they come up with some fascinating stuff)

Firstly they have posted a re-issue of the legendary Jackie Mittoo - In London from 1967 Rock Steady at its most interesting despite the poor quality cover and error filled text (sic) and also despite it still being listed around and about it is advertised as £30 and none in stock so I take it this is out of print*

Now I love a ska or rock steady instrumental but Jackie is way up there in terms of professionalism and I could listen to this all day . . . . .The Booker T of the Islands he covers Winchester Cathedral, Whiter Shade of Pale, Soul Finger and some which don't even rate a mention on the cover. Neither does his version of Nancy and Frank Sinatra's 'Something Stupid' given the RnB sound here!!!

Now additionally but not downloaded (yet!)
Zero G has also posted some really interesting albums again as rare as hen's teeth!

Another quality fascinating rare find of political folk sound

The Critics Group - Waterloo, Peterloo (1968)

and a live set from Robert Wyatt's short lived band post Soft Machine in 1971

Enjoy! I am . . . . . . .

*if you know otherwise that these titles are no longer out of print and it matters, please let me know and I will delete all references but otherwise have at it!
