CULTURE CLUB (Boy George) - BERLIN 2018 | Big O
Boy George is one of those figures from British music that I guess you either love or detest! I really started to appreciate the strength of his voice and creativity and indeed personality ( he is nobody’s fool and is erudite and sensitive as well as being highly informed and intelligent) somewhat later on and whilst a contemporary of The Sex Pistols and Siouxie and The Banshees the ubiquitous Karma Chamaeleon may have grated after a while so that only later when releasing tracks like Church of The Poisoned mind etc did I realise the ‘boy’ could really sing. This set from Big O from back 2018 show the band at their best. The vocals are mixed back a bit far for me and I don’t think you really get the full appreciation of what I am saying but the set whilst maybe being a tad drum heavy, is highly listenable and George is on top form.
