As suggested by someone over on the Dylan Fanclub Facebook page there’s this . . . . . . .
notes:Bob Dylan performs "Across The Borderline" with The Tom Petty Band live via satellite from Buffalo, New York at the Rich Stadium for the Farm Aid concert broadcast to Austin, Texas and the rest of the world on July 4, 1986.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers.
Written by Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, and Jim Dickinson for the film The Border with Jack Nicholson based upon an original by Freddy Fender * I need to research this attribution as I thought it was a Fender song but the boys must have sufficiently changed it warrant this acknowledgment! Bobby’s cover here is based upon the Cooder version
Should be noted that this performance was actually in Buffalo NY and was broadcast via satellite to Austin and the world
