as RYP notes from different sources this is a rarity and no mistake and well worth the enquiry if you’re a Pistols fan. I bought the Virgin example of the album (with the poster and extra single and I loved this band. Cook and Jones were a powerhouse that is often overshadowed by Johnny’s brilliant presence and self publicising band leadership. (Lydon as I have said before came to Blackwell’s Bookshop and endeared himself to all involved and proved to be a sterling fellow by all accounts, which didn’t surprise me and still doesn’t!) 

This is the initial pressing of SPUNK. Rush-released before 'Never Mind The Bollocks' in the U.K. in early October 1977, this edition in just a plain white sleeve with matte off-white labels printed in pink and with purple text. Some first editions were sold in one of a variety of sleeves, either hand made by the label, distributor or retailer. The inner sleeve is the same used as for NMTB a few days later! - discogs

The word "bootleg" conjures low-fidelity, poorly sequenced tracks, and a raw, thrown-together feel. The irony here is that this pre-Never Mind the Bollocks batch of Sex Pistols demos sounds slicker, tighter, and savvier than the legitimate album that succeeded it. These 15 tracks were cut with original bassist Glen Matlock and producer Dave Goodman. Released just before their debut album in 1977, these recordings -- nascent versions of many of the tracks from Bollocks -- were quickly suppressed.
