Ringo’s Dad Richard Starkey Snr left his wife when Ringo was 3 and died in 1981. Ringo went on to approve of his Mum’s new partner Harry Graves, who he loved like a dad, John’s Dad Alfred ‘Alf or Freddy’ Lennon also estranged from his son, James ‘Jim’ McCartney died in 1976 incredibly proud of his son,  Harold Harrison bought George his first guitar but was hesitant when his son left school at 16. He passed away in 1978 aged only 68.
