*from a country where superstition reigns by day and spirits move by night a ‘duppy' was a ghost hence a duppy conquerer was a Ghost Buster!
Such Jamaican patois was a blend of English, Spanish and African influences hence the almost impenetrable slang always helpful when discussing things you did not want others (the police?) to understand!
