Rudolf Schlichter
an early influence and much admired member of the German Expressionist movement after enjoying the work of George Grosz, Max Beckmann especially and others I found the drawings of people like lesser know figures of the movement like Schlichter a master draughtsman like Karl Hubbuch both showed their fascination for mannered drawing styles that I adored and tried to emulate in my own limited work . . . . . here are some of Schllchter’s more well know paintings and are not for the squeamish perhaps!
