Jenny and The Mexicats (revisited) ‘Frenetico Ritmo’ live at NPR Tiny Desk concerts

again another pop up from my Facebook memories and this is really worth a re-visit if it helps you cool down  . . . . or maybe not!?

Jenny said at the time:
Tiny desk is done at the NPR offices in Washington D.C., they are exclusive to their youtube channel and it has gone viral in the last 2 years but it has been done for 10 years and it has grown in a very organic way.
They invite an artist to play behind a desk and there is an invited audience but who doesn't know who is going to play until the band comes on stage. They record it in a very acoustic way with 2 microphones for all musicians and without monitoring, the artists have to be very creative in order to engage with the audience while sounding good for the youtube video.
We played in 2015 at SXSW and after our show we were invited by Felix Contreras to play on tiny desk.
It was until 2018 that we managed to do it and the appointment was at 11 am an unfriendly hour to give your best show but we knew how important it was to do it well, so we were prepared.
To choose the 3 songs was difficult but we decided to make one in English, one in Spanish and one in Spanglish, which is the language we speak between us since Jenny is from England, David from Spain and Pantera and Icho from Mexico.
We were very nervous and it was a complicated soundcheck since it was very difficult to play quietly but at the end we manage do it.
This is Frenetico Ritmo a song from our second album.
Hope you enjoy it.

We did Jenny we did!
