This cropped up in the algorithms and it remained me that this fine pop song was basically my theme song throughout the eighties
Released in January 1980, "I Got You" by Split Enz is the lead single from their fifth studio album, True Colours. Written by Neil Finn, the track contrasts a tense, eerie verse with a bright power-pop chorus to explore themes of paranoia and insecurity. It became a massive international hit, reaching number one in New Zealand and Australia, and achieving chart success in the UK and US.
