Rory Gallagher - Liberty Hall, Houston, TX 1974 | soundaboard - AtticRock

Rory Gallagher - Liberty Hall, Houston, TX 1974

Joe Bonamassa recently released The Spirit Of Rory Live From Cork, a tribute to Rory Gallagher fully comprised of tracks from the Irish guitarist's catalogue.
It was recorded with the blessing of Gallagher’s family and performed with three sold-out dates in Gallagher’s hometown of Cork and featured a guest appearance by Gerry McAvoy, Rory’s long-time bass player, who joined Joe on stage for Bullfrog Blues.
So, hearing and reading about that very nice effort was the perfect excuse to get back to some old Rory stuff.
In this case a concert at the Liberty Hall in Houston in 1974, same year as the classic live album Irish Tour '74 was released.

Track List:

01 - Messin' With The Kid
02 - Cradle Rock
03 - Just A Little Bit
04 - Early In The Morning
05 - Tattoo'd Lady
06 - Hands Off
07 - Pistol Slapper Blues
08 - Too Much Alcohol
09 - A Million Miles Away
10 - Bullfrog Blues

Well this might start an argument and I have said before how I do not care for Joe Bonamassa very much but I take what Attic Rock says to heart and I am sure folks in Rory’s homeland appreciated someone playing ANY Rory tunes so well beloved of his fans but I am sorry . . . . .Rory he aint!

Joe Bonamassa - "Tattoo'd Lady" - The Spirit of Rory Live From Cork

I know it is said 'comparison are odious' but puhleeze! This is how it’s done! TURN IT UP!
Rory Gallagher - Tattoo'd Lady (Live At The Cork Opera House, Ireland / 1987)

I always thought someone like Rory should have given Joe lessons but hey!

Fleetwood Mac - Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino, CA 1971| AtticRock @ soundaboard

Fleetwood Mac - Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino, CA 1971

Fleetwood Mac at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California on February 19, 1971.

It was one of the dates on which Peter Green joined the Mac temporarily after the disappearance of Jeremy Spencer, who went on to join a religious sect.*

The Swing Auditorium was an indoor arena with a capacity of nearly 10,000 attendees where many rock artists from the sixties and seventies performed. It was destroyed on a fateful date, September 11, 1981, when a twin-engine Cessna aircraft crashed into it.

02 Station Man
03 Get Like You Used To Be
04 Dragonfly
05 Purple Dancer
06 I'd Rather Go blind
07 Tell Me All The Things You Do
08 Jam

* interesting historic document in the Fleetwood Mac story and not least because Peter felt able to step back up after the LSD party event and subsequent ‘disappearance' of the execrable apparently unashamed Children of God, David Berg acolyte and mentee, the alleged self confessed pedophile Spencer who scurried away into the darkness [interesting that he is still touting his trade and trying to tour the UK despite fervent opposition and people keeping track of the accused child abuser]
