I always wanted to know where such an exotic excitingly named place as TUCUMCARI was . . . . .
THE AMERICAN DREAM
And I guess I knew it was on Route 66 but I had rose tinted spectacles when first hearing about the music and places of the USA. I still had them when first visiting places like San Francisco and finally New York that came as a revelation and were truly great . . . no need to make it great again Lil Donny Drumpf!
Now in my head it all looks like this
ROUTE 66
I guess it may not be like this now ( or certainly parts may have improved but this depressed me no end!)
again think I found it and its from
Linda about sums up what I thought about Tucumcari!
Written by the legend that was Lowell George
you just know if you gave me weed, whites and wine . . . . .
I might just make it there

Christopher Thomas Youlden (1 January 1943 – 4 April 2025) was an English blues rock singer. He worked with the British blues band Savoy Brown from 1967
in his prime
Brother Jobe dropped by with bad news and we have lost anther great R ’n’ B legend in ex Savoy Brown alum [and Chris and the Slammers] a true force of blues n boogie nature if ever there was one
Here he is then covering a favourite song of mine by Nawleans legend Earl King . . . . . . . Chris Youlden and The Slammers

For Brother Jobe . . . .
Chris Youlden has died of bronchial pneumonia at the age of 82, on April 4th, 2025. Youlden is best known for his stint as the distinctive blues/rock singer and songwriter for Savoy Brown, over a quartet of albums considered to be their best, which drove them to the high watermark of their success between 1967 and 1970. He appeared on two albums in 1968, Getting to the Point, and Blue Matter. A Step Further was released the following year. The Youlden original “I’m Tired” produced Savoy Brown's first American hit single. Following the release of Raw Sienna (also released in 1969), Youlden departed the band to pursue a solo career. After two critically acclaimed solo albums with London Records failed to score with any significance—Nowhere Road (1973), and City Child (1974)—he slipped under the radar and rarely performed or recorded againJazz News.
