Guess I’m Dumb : Washington Philllips A Mother’s Last Words to her Son (1927)

Washington Phillips - Mother’s Last Word to Her Son (1927)

"Happy Mother’s Day. I was wondering what strange celestial sounding instrument he’s playing, and apparently it’s a dulceola, a homemade, fretless zither.

I guess it is in Merka! Happy Mother’s day Merkin Mothers!

Philllips we first came across in Denomination Blues by Ry Cooder . . . .still hysterical even today . . . . ‘you know the primitive Baptists they believe that you can’t get to Heaven lessen you wash your feet . . . n that’s all, I tell ya that’s all!

So I waited a day and post it in memory of my beloved Mum who passed away this day some 13 years ago now . . . . . doesnt seem like it.
