I collaborated with Brazilian composer Arnaldo Antunes recently on 2 songs on his new record (they’re included here). In the 80’s he was in a very popular rock band called Titas. He went solo in 1993, which is when I first heard him on his music/video/concrete poetry project called “Nome” (concrete poetry is when the type layout is part of the meaning) - I loved it. He did more solo records, dance scores, poetry books and a collaboration with Marisa Monte and Carlinhos Brown called “Tribalistas”, it was quite successful. -David Byrne |
