Kate Rusby (and Damien O’Kane) - Light Beyond The Lines (Radio 2’s 21st Century Folk) . . for Charlotte and Dave

We started the day with Richard Thomspon’s tribute to ‘Siggy' and so from that same project we will check out with this heartfelt tribute to this couple and you might be best advised to have a handkerchief to hand and it really got to me. Again sung to the inspiration of this heartfelt wonderful song it nearly made me cry . . . .I will bid you all a very Good Night,  snuggle up if you can and stay safe all. . . .

Kate Rusby (with husband Damien O’Kane on guitar) performs ‘Light Beyond The Lines’ to Charlotte and Dave, the couple who inspired it. She wrote the song for 21st Century Folk, Radio 2’s series that sees five people have songs written about their lives. During a mental health crisis, Charlotte intended to end her life. Train driver Dave stopped his train and spoke to Charlotte, persuading her to go home. Months later, they reconnected. They're now married with children. To hear their full story, find 21st Century Folk on BBC Sounds: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002... Recorded at Cubley Hall near Penistone. Produced by Pomona Audio for the BBC.
