ALBUMS THAT SHOULD EXIST | Aimee Mann - Hultsfred Festival, Sweden 15th October 2001

Aimee Mann - Hultsfred Festival, Hultsfred, Sweden, 10-15-2001

Paul says : Really excellent sounding Aimee Mann concert recordings are very few and far between (and she's only released one live album), so when I found one this good, I post it straight away. This is either a soundboard or FM radio bootleg. Either way, it sounds as good as an official live album.

I'm especially happy to find this, because it took place after the release of what I consider her two strongest albums, the "Magnolia" soundtrack in 1999, and "Bachelor No. 2" in 2000. And checking just now, I see the crowd-sourced ratings at rateyourmusic.com also give those two albums her highest ratings. Every song is a winner.

There's not much banter between songs, but this seems to have been all she said. At one point between songs, she mentioned she just didn't feel like saying much.

This album is 55 minutes long.

Labrador - & High On A Sunday - Aimee Mann | O My Soul

again O My Soul excels in her choices and shares another Aimee Mann track - great one this

and this . . . . . . .

O My Soul

We have crossed the Rubicon
Our ship awash, our rudder gone
The rats have fled but I’m hanging on
Let me try, baby, try

Baby, please - let me begin
Let me be your heroin(e)
Hate the sinner but love the sin
Let me be your heroin(e)

Artist and Song of the Day to start the week | Aimee Mann : The Other End of The Telescope (Live) - and Lullaby (b-side) | O My Soul

O My Soul

This is a solo/acoustic version of a song Aimee wrote with Elvis Costello and originally recorded with ‘Til Tuesday.

O My Soul

And you will do just what you always do
Close your eyes and let her run to you
And I know ‘cause I’d run to you, too

a two-fer from our Alice!

About Me

My photo
Andy Swapp
These pages are where since 2006 I come to largely share some musical references to the blogosphere (other music bloggers). I search a large number of sources daily for ROIOs and what we used to call bootlegs, (not official albums faked by charlatans to sell but live recording and concerts that would not be published anywhere else) and I post links to an eclectic bunch of musicians so that I hope it has broad appeal. I do NOT feature sites that charge money for any of this and if these change ever please let me know and I will delete them. It is not my intention to do anything other than share links to sites featuring ROIOs and I do not house any files myself here, This is my idea of musical fun and to relieve the stresses of daily life I also share links to articles, pictures, art or photography as was my background and training and first degree (Fine Art). Those that I have enjoyed or mean something to me and interspersed with occasional general ramblings on the world around me!
