Film Fact of the Week : Grace Kelly in ‘REAR WINDOW’

A born again non-smoker and fascinated by this . . . . . .  My favourite Alfred Hitchcock film of all and my choice of his best movie ever is Rear Window with James Stewart (imagine having to spurn Grace’s kisses and love making!? - nerves of steel!)

Film Fact: Rear Window is the only film in which Grace Kelly is seen with a cigarette. She refused to smoke in films, except this one where she is seen at the very most holding a lit cigarette though she is never shown actually smoking it due to clever editing.

It never struck me before and is a fact worth noting . . . . . . . . I approve!🚬

REAR WINDOW :: James Stewart and Grace Kelly | THAT KISS!

My bid for top Hitchcock film of all time and streets ahead of Vertigo and even North By Northwest IMHO not least for possessing the most erotic kiss in movie history for my money. Quite how James Stewart was able to act resistant to the charms and womanly wiles of the breathtakingly beautiful Grace Kelly trying to seduce him with a kiss is totally beyond me. It is a brilliant scene and if any evidence were needed Prince Rainer upon marrying said beauty could be entirely understood for forbidding her to act ever again after they wed and this kiss is, in my belief, precisely why!?!

GRACE KELLY - REAR WINDOW - (Alfred Hitchcock)

My favourite Alfred Hitchcock film and I consider it his best bar none not least because of the chemistry between this wondrous creature and star James Stewart. It required both to really act and quite how you act disinterested as Grace Kelly kisses you on the mouth is beyond me and no wonder her husband to be eventually forbade her from acting anymore! It still stands for me as one of the most erotic scenes in movie history when she kisses Stewart. Superb!

GEORGINE DARCY

You’re looking at Georgine Darcy. She had a mildly successful career in show business, but only one role of hers really matters—Miss Torso from Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller 'Rear Window' 1954 which I believe deserves inclusion in anyone's top ten films of all time…

Possibly one of the most gripping thrillers of all time and certainly  one of the best screen kisses I have ever seen between James Stewart and Grace Kelly. Beautifully scripted shot and acted throughout . . . . . .
