 This is nice and interesting too . . . . . .

O My Soul

"Holly recorded his own version of Mickey & Sylvia's Love Is Strange as an acoustic demo in his attic. It was later overdubbed in 1969 with an early version of a Moog synthesizer and released as a single. The synthesized strings give it a very haunting, ghostly feel, as if he’s singing from beyond the grave, which of course he was.”

thanks to O My Soul for the nudge

As near perfect as it is possible to get in pop . . . . . . . . just because  . . . . . and no, I didn't buy it when it came out! (cheek!)
