FORGIVENESS

May the tide
never tire of its tender toil
how over and over
it forgives the Moon
the daily exile
and returns to turn
mountains into sand
as if to say,
you too can have
this homecoming
you too possess
this elemental power
of turning
the stone in the heart
into golden dust.
A memorable but short-lived project, the Ducks were a bar band based in Santa Cruz, California whose lineup featured Neil Young on guitar and vocals, though he was not the leader of the group. In the spring of 1977, former Moby Grape vocalist and guitarist Jerry Miller was working with various musicians, and Young found his way on stage one night with Miller (whom he knew from his Fillmore days) and a singer-songwriter named Jeff Blackburn (who co-wrote "My My Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)". Young began hanging out and jamming with Blackburn in the days that followed with Blackburn on rhythm guitar, Bob Mosley on bass, and session musician Johnny Craviotto on drums.
Well let’s start the day with a favourite song . . . admittedly first heard by Bobby King and Terry Evans of Ry Cooder fame who’s sole album together makes this into one of the most erotic paeans to physical love I have ever heard (seriously!) . . . but here a more prosaic version from The Sir Douglas Quintet and nothing wrong with that!
Well there has been loads of mention of Bob and Barbra Streisand's joining up for a duet and from her collaborating album that features Bobby, Macca, Laufey, James Taylor, Sam Smith and many more
but frankly this is lovely and I will leave the day there . . . . . . . .
