'Tremors actor' Finn Carter

 TREMORS!

undefined

I was watching another TV broadcast of a favourite old sci-fi classic film, Tremors, the other day and was struck by how good it was and still stands up today. Despite the huge number of remakes or follow ons (5/6?) the first is still great fun and I always liked how they made the monsters so believable. I was also struck that the female roles were very strong too with Reba McIntyre as gun toting part of the couple of new militia types and especially the role of Rhonda LeBeck as the scientist and seismologist. Okay she is the love interest for Kevin Bacon's character but there is a nice slice of contemporary battle of the sexes message that the women portrayed are as intelligent and the boys well frankly are as dumb as soup. Brains and brawn win the day to defeat the monsters. It made me look up Finn Carter the actor who plays Rhonda and I was saddened to learn she had given up acting back in the early noughties (2005?) whilst she had other roles and a spots in several TV shows, including “Chicago Hope” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” her professional acting on the big screen seemed to have all but ended  and had only recently faced charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and fraud with bank credit cards to make ends meet noting these are federal offences so will face a heavy penalty and likely a custodial one. She is still in touch via her social media (Instagram) and clearly has creative talent as a painter but there has been scant little info regarding the offences that I can find pertaining to the results of her criminal charges and as these were back in July 2019 I can only wish and hope that the charges were dropped. Her Facebook has dried since 2015 but her twitter account has postings as recent as March 2021 so we can but hope. Still a strikingly handsome woman I wish her well whatever the outcome of her troubles.
