Helene Grimaud, Vladimir Jurowski - 2009 - Ravel concerto in G Major - Adagio Assai

"When Stephen’s dad became seriously ill while he was filming Green Wing, the show’s production stopped for 10 days so he could be with him. He chooses the Adagio from Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major as his sixth disc, in honour of this time. “When Dad and I were alone, we would listen to this track a lot. I think he found it quite relaxing. I know I did.”

This for Stephen’s Dad, in memory of my dad         and for Jobe too . . . . . .

and for his wife, Stephen amusingly claimed the classic Jackie Wilson as ‘their’ song despite his wife’s protestations that they have to have had something significant around the song that both of them share! I know the feeling and share this for my life partner too!

play this at the end of my funeral! 😉
