Keren Ann - My Name Is Trouble (Nurse Jackie soundtrack)

Keren Ann - My Name It Is Trouble

Now I have said before how frequently I pick up fine, fine music from TV series (Emily Barker, Wilful Missing etc etc) but this is from 2010 and I rarely find music from quite so far back but this track cropped up in my revisiting the excellent TV series (Channel 4 here in the UK) from the States Nurse Jackie which I am currently binge watching and adore Edie (Carmela Soprano) Falco
and found this [series 5 ep 3]:
"My name is trouble", taken from the album 101, available here : http://bit.ly/ieWhdH

Now the thing is that I have mentioned a couple of previous tracks on Nurse Jackie but it is uncanny how music affects the storyline and plot feel and these guys who do the casting of songs in context on TV series (Wallender etc) fascinate me. Where do they get to hear contemporary music that fits so well? Do they commission things and do they have to pay inordinately large sums to get releases from artists? I think I would have loved to work in that field. It has led to a life long journey with the work of Emily Barker and Wilful Missing I bought everything by and they seem to be defunct now which is an almost unbearable sadness. Both fine and exquisite writers of the contemporary song IMHO

There, I’ll shut up now but . . . . . .you take my point?
