We have had this before but Gary Lucas reminded me that Don Van Vliet really liked this and it struck me as odd at first but on reflection I get it. . . .the wonderful A.L. ‘Bert’ Lloyd ‘Doodle Let Me Go (Yaller Gals) could be a Don painting title or song indeed even if the sound is vastly different out can see the poetic link I reckon
thanks Gary for the reminder . . the extraordinary Lloyd was a documenter of British folk tunes par excellence!
