1960s - #6: On March 22, 1965, Bob Dylan released his 5th studio album, entitled Bringing It All Back Home. The disc would climb to #6 on the Billboard charts in the US, makling it Dylan's first top 10 album in the states. Across the pond, the album would go to the top of the British charts. With tunes such as Mr. Tambourine Man, Subterranean Homesick Blues, It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue, It’s Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), and Maggie's Farm, the album would eventually be considered one of rock's masterpieces, with Rolling Stone ranking it #31 on its 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. This FM broadcast captures Dylan 5 days after the release of Bringing It All Back Home, in Santa Monica on March 27, 1965, 61 years ago today.

If he was still with us, Jerry Garcia would have celebrated his 83rd birthday today! Garcia was born in 1942, along with the following rock stars (not a complete list by the way) - Carol King, Clarence Clemons, Marty Balin, Graham Nash, Brian Jones, Lou Reed, Leon Russell, Brian Wilson, Roger McGuinn, Felix Cavaliere, Jimi Hendrix and Sir Paul McCartney!  That's a virtual rock & roll hall of fame!  Our month long tribute to the late great "Captain Trips" begins with this soundbaord recording  of the Jerry Garcia Band on their home turf in San Francisco on Garcia's 42nd birthday, on August 1, 1984, 41 years ago today.

This soundboard recording captures Hiatt on tour in support of The Tiki Bar Is Open in Yosemite on May 25, 2002, 23 years ago today.
