Speedy Says: Hiatt 1990 - Back To Back - #1:As mentioned in other posts on this blog, I think John Hiatt is one of rock’s most under rated and overlooked talents. His run of albums between 1987 and 1995 - Bring The Family, Slow Turning, Stolen Moments, Perfectly Good Guitar and Walk On - are filled with exceptional tunes. Many of those songs have been covered by artists such as Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffet and Joe Cocker. Unfortunately, Hiatt never achieved the commercial success he deserved. This sounsboard recording captures him on tour in support of Stolent Moments, during the late show at the Bottom Line on July 26, 1990, 3 dozen years ago today.
