Em says:

Hello

I'm writing from an old stone house in Austin, Texas where I'm staying for the week of SXSW before moving on to Nashville and Memphis for shows.

I'm writing to let you know that I have a new single out this coming Friday. It comes from a quiet place. From a time of introversion and introspection. From tuning into the stillness and beauty that surrounds us, if only we could stop for long enough to appreciate the peace.

You can pre-save it wherever it is you listen to music.

Thank you kindly!

Emily

Emily Barker will have some news to share around the 17th of this month so stayed tuned

Emily says :

"Do you remember your last school photo? Is it buried in a box in the attic, framed on a shelf, lost in the last house move?

Do you remember what was happening in your life at the time? What was going through your head as the photographer clicked away? Perhaps you faked a smile, or perhaps a smile came easily on that day... It’s such a pivotal moment — saying goodbye to some peers and friends, teachers, familiar corridors and classrooms, readying to take a leap towards the unknown.

You’re probably wondering what I’m going on about and why...

Well, take a look at this trailer."

She posted this picture from her homeland on her Facebook page and I couldn’t resist! So this mail shot about some new music filled me with excitement.

Look at that! Isn’t that a great shot? . . . . . . .
On Facebook she was even more obtuse and enchantingly enigmatic:
She says:

"𝚈𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚘 π™»πš’πšπšŽ: π™Έπš— πš‚πš™πš’πšπšŽ 𝚘𝚏 π™΄πšŸπšŽπš›πš’πšπš‘πš’πš—πš" – πš…πš’πš”πšπš˜πš› π™΅πš›πšŠπš—πš”πš•

Bush: Grass trees = Xanthorrhoea = 'Balga' in Noongar A thimble of time spent with my Dad & the dogs on the 'Wandoo walk' one spring morning. He talked a lot about his mum on that slow spin through the bush, how she was his hero.
Daisies: The name ‘daisy’ is believed to come from ‘day’s eye’.
Words: Sometimes I like to write a chorus that varies from the one that came before, just a little.

"... she had a great variety of selves to call upon... so that one will only come if it is raining, another in a room with green curtains, another when Mrs. Jones is not there… and some are too wildly ridiculous to be mentioned in print at all." – Virginia Woolf
