SOCIAL ISOLATION!

In this time of 'lock down' or 'social isolation' at least at the moment due to the pandemic for Corvid-19 (a virulent global coronavirus outbreak) people are trying all sorts of different things like teaching on line (I have to give a shout out to my dear friend Johnny Hinkes (of The Prairie Clams) who is offering face-2-face Skype guitar lessons on his facebook page) a lovely live post from super naturalist @ChrisGPackham discussing his garden and the lesser celandines he found beneath his tree (sic) from Ricky Gervais checking in daily with a comedy spot ad lib to help make us laugh and artists posting live music for fun, I was ecstatic to see on Facebook yesterday the wonderful Emily Barker post a live song of hers from a previous album as it occurred to her, she sang 'Billowing Sea' from her work with The Red Clay Halo 

 . . . which reminded me of how much I enjoyed the work of not only her but was suddenly reminded of Alexi Murdoch and played this following track but his webpage is always worth following too!

I love The Prairie Clams and may, I say may, be biased but my old friend Johnny Hinckes can literally play ANYTHING! But he and his fellow clams are sticking to Country classics . . . . got see 'em locally if you can!

This version has more in common with the original than those rough boys Michael Philip and The Groobin' Stooves!

'Hunny Jinckes' one of my oldest friends from college days after school, Johnny can pretty much play anything he chooses and I was always in awe of his talent. (early on he and his pals could play Beefheart 'Trout Mask Replica' bye ear! and we took great pleasure in learning the lyrics until we knew it all by heart. The band were exceptional and could all play this stuff, me not so much!
Current incarnation as the lead of The Prairie Clams who specialise in covering Country classics. Formerly seen around the streets of Oxford playing to the crowds as his alter ego Max Moonlight!

This is 'noodling' apparently! Jamming alongside his own backing track of the clams this is lovely!
