You couldn’t play two notes at once on the electric keyboards. You could only play one note at once. When people used to say she only played one note at a time, it’s because the instrument could play one note at a time. It’s called cojones I think . . . .with Paul’s support and the boys in the band, Linda shook off any nerves (seemingly) and carried on being one of the band!
I have said before but I will say it again at the time of Wings and Linda playing alongside her hubby we were members of the Fan Club and card carrying members at that.

I love this picture and did of most of the shots of his early family life with Linda and the children but this is particularly great I thought. I do miss Linda and we were big fans of her and Wings and all the early stuff. Big Bop, I say! I have remarked before how lovely it was to see Paul grown into such a great Dad from his relationship with Julian (still going strong I see the other day) and the story of Heather and all the rest of the kids too. He must be so proud . . . . . . . love them all!

The great weblog Fresh & Alive has posted a cracker of a Macca!
The legendary last Wings gig signing off in Glasgow of 1979. This is great quality and F&A cites that McCartney recorded it himself for the possibility of release as a record of the last tours of Wings. What I do know is that it is really great quality and highly listenable

WINGS OVER AMERICA II - Hear Rock City
This is a reconstruction of the proposed 1974 live in-the-Abbey Road studio album One Hand Clapping by Paul McCartney & Wings. Originally meant as the studio rehearsals for a 1974 Wings Over Australia tour that never happened, the proceedings were filmed for a possible film release, akin to The Beatles’ Get Back project eight years earlier. Despite the high quality of live studio performances—especially of the then-unreleased “Soily”--McCartney shelved the entire project, as was the fate of a number of other self-financed Wings film projects throughout the 70s and 80s. This reconstruction attempts to replicate what a double-LP release in 1974 could have been like, using the best possible sources, including official releases and painstakingly-remastered bootleg recordings. All tracks have been sequenced in the actual recording order, spread across four sides of a vinyl record.

The four-disc (3CD + 1DVD) limited deluxe edition of Wild Life, the debut album from Wings, originally released December 1971. Written by Paul and Linda McCartney (with the exception of a cover of Mickey & Sylvia's ‘Love Is Strange’), Wild Life is beloved by fans for its raw and direct vibe - having been recorded in just over a week with the majority of tracks laid down in a single take. Wild Life's limited deluxe edition treatment features the full album remastered at Abbey Road Studios plus 25 bonus audio tracks including rough mixes of the album, original single edits, B-sides, home recordings and other previously unreleased material across three CDs. The set’s DVD features rare footage of acoustic home videos, rehearsals and more. The Wild Life deluxe package includes a 128-page book written by David Fricke telling the story behind the album – including track-by-track information and new interviews with Paul and key album personnel, a 48-page scrapbook of tour diaries, lyrics and set lists, unpublished Polaroids, lyrics, notes and memorabilia from the MPL archives.
On this day in music history: April 30, 1973 - “Red Rose Speedway”, the second album by Paul McCartney & Wings is released (UK release is on May 4, 1973). Produced by Paul McCartney, it is recorded in Los Angeles, CA from March - June & September - October 1972 at Olympic and Abbey Road Studios in London. Originally conceived as a seventeen track double album, it is pared down to a nine track single LP with several songs later resurfacing as single B-sides (“The Mess”, “C Moon”, “I Lie Around”, “Country Dreamer”). It spins off the hit single “My Love” (#1 Pop). The original copies of the LP are packaged in a gatefold sleeve (with a twelve page photo booklet) with the message “we love you” to Stevie Wonder embossed on the back cover of the LP jacket in braille. The album is first reissued on CD in 1993, with four additional bonus tracks, including the single only releases “Hi Hi Hi”, “C Moon”, The Mess" and “I Lie Around”. “Red Rose Speedway” spends three weeks at number one on the Billboard Top 200, and is certified Gold in the US by the RIAA.
