Cat Stevens: Cat Stevens History (4 CD Box Set) 2001 - Urbanaspirines

Urbanaspirines has done a profile of Cat Stevens and quotes from the four disc box set looking at his history. I have said before I think, amongst the people that my then girlfriend and now wife introduced me to was Cat Stevens and especially through Catchbull at Four. Born as Steven Demetre Georgiou that was clearly thought of as too Greek by his label and easy to misunderstand as 'foreign' playing to the UK nations xenophobia, he came up with 'Cat Stevens'. Falling foul of tuberculosis in the late sixties, he re-emerged converted to Islam and took to his religious duties for the next few years and it wasn't until 2006 that he returned to the secular world of music with the new name (again!) of Yusef Islam converted in 1978 this has carried him through until today where he is known by both stage name and Islamic nomenclature. Nice enough compilation 'Best of' as it were if you don't have anything , . , . , . , . , .[if not why not?!]
