"Christopher Montanez was born in Los Angeles 17 January 1943 (Now at the age of 79). In his teens, he attended the same high school as The Beach Boys. During that time, he became a fan of Ritchie Valens. That inspired him to record records himself. In 1962 Montez gradually became known in Los Angeles, but later that year his big breakthrough followed with "Let's Dance". At the age of 19 he scored his first and biggest hit in the United States (#4) and it grows into a rock and roll classic.
