"Today’s Marky’s YouTube Day (it was a Wednesday but who’s counting?). Neil Finn-Live. It's one of those songs that tends to fall between the musical cracks and you hear it ages later and go “Boy what a great song, I’ve forgotten about this one”.
It’s Neil performing “Rest Of The Day Off”. Live at Chapel off Chapel-Prahran. January 21st 2001.
An odd show for Mark and myself as Chapel off Chapel was a 5 minute walk from our 55 Greville street Prahran home & CH office. Our beloved cat Hairball was dying that night so we stayed at home with her instead of the gig. I remember Neil & Sharon called us afterwards (Hairball the cat & Finns- Lester the dog were animal friends when we lived next door to the Finns at East St Kilda. Lester would pop his head through the cat door & eat all of Hairballs food!). So a sad night for us, but beautiful music was being made down the road.
