I think I have mentioned composer Gavin Bryars before and would like to thank him for introducing me, through our studies at what was then Leicester Polytechnic Fine Art Department, to Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Francis Picabia and the composer Erik Satie to the work of Charles Ives and others. With historian Fred Orton they ran what was a groundbreaking peerless study group and we had visiting lecturers in Brian Eno, Michael Nyman et al
