I have mentioned before the family all love Lily . . . . .she of the acerbic lyric and biting modern satire with a personal social media cultural vibe bar none, girl can SING! she has gone on to other things and tried recycled clothes in vintage stores and other very much what we think as side projects and we miss her acid tongued barbs and arguments but be grateful she got some of it down on vinyl and toured widely before taking a back seat presumable concentrating more on her family . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . another album Lily? 'Nothing to do and nothing to say'? I doubt it . . . . . .

Listening to the Lily Allen catalogue is like visiting Epcot or Las Vegas: the songs are set randomly all over the world of musical genres (Afropop? Check! Cajun stomp? Check! and so on) and all burnished to a high shine. This music is light as helium, a sonic souffle covered in musical meringue that melts in ear. It’s all carbs and calories: it’s probably not very good for you and, eventually, it would probably make you sick, but IT IS DELICIOUS! People go to Epcot and buy churros for a reason.
