Hope Sandoval (born June 24, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter who is the lead singer of Mazzy Star and Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. Sandoval has toured and collaborated with other artists, including Massive Attack,for whom she sang "Paradise Circus" on the 2010 album Heligoland and the 2016 single "The Spoils".

Hope Sandoval from the band Mazzy Star and Colm Ó Cíosóig of My Bloody Valentine.Sandoval formed The Warm Inventions in 2000 and released her first solo album Bavarian Fruit Bread in 2001, which she recorded with My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig. The album differed in terms of theme, voice, and instrumentation from that of her work with Mazzy Star.

The one-time carefree Philly stoner has come out of lockdown a changed man – with huge ambitions for his most candid record yet. He reveals how Covid triggered his ‘homecoming’ renaissance

“People said I had just butchered that song, that John was rolling in his grave.” Vile gives a meek laugh, leaning back so far in his chair he almost disappears. “I felt like I let John Prine down. I spiralled.” 

Vile is talking about the time, back in November 2020, when Seth Meyers asked him to perform John Prine’s Speed of the Sound of Loneliness on his talkshow. It would be the first time anyone had performed live on the show in eight months, owing to the pandemic, and Vile relished the challenge. Vile is a Prine devotee, as is Meyers, and it would also serve as a tribute: Prine had died of Covid seven months earlier.  . . . . .

John really dug Kurt and vice versa and Vile was one of the last people to play with him onstage. John supported loads of young(er) stars and had an extraordinary amount open concerts for him . . . he started it back in the day when a guest spot at 'The Point' concert in Dublin (1989) where he introduced the then largely unknown and only on his second album 'Pontiac', one Lyle Lovett . . . . . .!
