DRAMA of THE MOMENT!

'CHEAT'

Lorraine Ashbourne and Peter Firth in 'Cheat'

Peter Firth in 'Cheat'

Really struck as ever by youngster Molly Windsor who we admired in 'Three Girls' the drama about grooming young girls in the North and Sam Morton's wonderful, if again somewhat harrowing 'The Unloved' [and we hope she gets to play something lighter soon!] but 'Cheat' is also a grim scary role albeit in a thriller playing opposite Katherine Kelly and the always watchable Tom Goodman-Hill (Jessica Raines' husband who we are also enjoying lately in 'Baptiste' as a police officer) plus featured stars in Lorraine Ashbourne, Peter Firth, Ade Edmundson and a really well cast ensemble troop of support actors.

Tom Goodman-Hill in 'Cheat'

It is a scary edge of the seat thriller that keeps you guessing from episode one despite changes in tempo and the flashbacks sequences used to great effect in that episode which are rarely repeated but generally the tension is extraordinary and even until the penultimate episode I didn't have it figured out. The tension is at peek strength throughout and quite the most enjoyable drama I have seen on ITV for an age. Very well done . . . . .

We need to keep an eye on this young actor. I have seen the future of drama and it stars young talented people like this!
