Speaking of Van The Man! Whilst we're about it there was lovely and interesting document from over at Midnight Cafe yesterday (sic?) and it is well worth checking out. A compilation of sheer 'alchemy' [yeah we geddit - ED] 2 cd's of the best tracks from his live performances of 1999. I am not going to argue and whilst the quality is by necessity a tad mixed, it IS highly listenable

The notes put it thus . . . .
A year to remember, 1999 was full of stellar performances. Over the past few months, the cream of the crop has been carefully selected and preserved by a generous fellow fan. Every track is a highlight! Selections include fantastic versions of such classics as All In The Game, And The Healing Has Begun, and Ain’t Nothin’ You Can Do… Cheltenham’s smokin’ Muleskinner Blues, and the show-stopping Help Me from Jones Beach. In all, over two hours of incredible listening.
