This isn’t just ANY portrait of Donald J Trump 💩 A Canadian artist painted Trump's portrait out of literal horse sh!t, and it sold on day one of a prestigious art fair!

Vancouver Island artist Wendy Chartrand decided that when it came to painting the President of the United States, one medium simply fit the subject better than any other 👃🏽

She lives on a property with horses, so the material was easy to find…

She watered it down, mashed it up, and strained it into a makeshift watercolor, a process so smelly she had to wear a mask or work outdoors.

Then she painted Donald Trump with it.

She titled it "The Don of Dung."

Chartrand did not hide her reasons. She said Canadians are tired and frustrated watching the goings-on south of the border, and this was her way of expressing how she feels about it. In her words, “sometimes you just have to laugh, because you often cannot do anything else about it.”

Here is the part that has to sting the self-proclaimed billionaire: The piece was accepted into the Sooke Fine Arts Show, a festival that has celebrated artistic excellence for 40 years. And it sold on the very first day, for 1,800 dollars.

Someone looked at a portrait of Trump made of manure and happily paid real money to hang it on their wall.

The festival stood by it proudly, calling the painting part of a long tradition of artists engaging with the events of their time.

Chartrand, for her part, says she has no idea who bought it, but she would love to find out so she can thank them.

So while Trump crowns himself a super genius and demands the world treat him like royalty, an artist a border away summed up how a lot of people feel about him using the contents of a stable, and a crowd of art lovers applauded.

Thank you, Wendy, for the most fitting portrait of this presidency yet.

She — and the world — are laughing at us!
