Kind of surprising this is a FM recording as it is a ‘lively’ noisy performance for the mercurial and hard to pin down Mason. Mason cuts an intriguing fiorgure for me and a senior player in Traffic for the most settled period of his perofmaing career whe seems to have the extraordinary inability to stay in one place for too long that defies his fan base at times!
The composer of classic rock songs covered by others he crops up playing session on Hendrix’s All Along The Watchtower amongst many others to confound us somehow!
Still I am not critical just seems a shame this eclectic scatter-gun approach seems to have left him a side figure to many
