Mr. David Lindley just no-one else like him. Well G. E. got that right.
I used to collect recordings of him playing "Mercury Blues" and to be fair that's far from the best but fun nevertheless with the celebrity soloists.
I saw him with Jackson Browne in Manchester '76 and broke down on the M6 at midnight on the way home. A night at the services with jobsworths waking you up every half hour "You can't sleep here."
Later at a club in Sheffield with the El Rayo-X band.
