This is fun too! Now I really rate Sonny Landreth as one of the best slide players around but there’s a problem it seems to me. He is fine and amongst the finest when playing with a band. Check out his work with Johnny Hiatt and you won’t find anyone finer. Playing on his own and with a band of his own devising, lacks the discipline needed to not get carried away IMHO. Here we have evidence. This is a fine fine set but his guitar soloing gets so carried away with bombast and flash it lets itself down left right and centre. Not sure any other guitarists will get this and I hope you enjoy it but sorry Ry Cooder he aint!
