"Others inspire us, information feeds us, practice improves our performance, but we need quiet time to figure things out, to emerge with new discoveries, to unearth original answers." - Ester Buchholz

Hello

I'm writing from Memphis today, waiting for a Colombian pour over coffee at 'French Truck Coffee' in the incredible Crosstown Concourse (an old Sears factory building).

Coffee is now with me and it's a good one.

I'm delighted to share the fourth single from my forthcoming album, Fragile as Humanswith you. It's called The Quiet Ways.

The Quiet Ways speaks to the quiet side of us, the self that loves reading a book on the couch, staring out the window for a while, walking through a forest. It's a celebration of slow movement, observation and allowing space for processing information and emotions.

Recording the vocals for this song with my producer, Luke Potashnick was an exercise in how quietly I could sing and he explains "I had this idea of putting Emily out front, diving further into what her voice could do and exploring much quieter parts of her voice. Every single line had to be faultless, otherwise the illusion and the contract between her and the listener would collapse.”

The music video and animation by Callum Scott-Dyson // CSD Videography compliments the narrative, the imagery of the lyrics, so beautifully. Thank you Callum.

I hope you enjoy a quiet moment with The Quiet Ways.
