Today, July 2, is the 46th anniversary of it’s release so please enjoy T. Rex, with Elton John on piano, performing Get It On, on Top Of The Pops, 1972. I went to see these guys and don't quite remember where it was, possibly in Bristol or possibly with my old pal Taffy to Wales, Swansea maybe, either way a good time was had by all and the musos who I hung around with at the time were horrified at the change from Tyrannosaurus Rex to the glittering T.Rex . . . . . I loved it. Live they were loud and amazing!

I watched this the other day and was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. I think I associated it with another movie of similar theme or title or something but had no idea it was going to be this radically great a story. Gripping indictment of media and the yellow press, ambulance chasers and journalists gone to their logical end. [I don't have a high opinion of journalists as you may tell] Jake Gyllenhaal is great in it and it co-starred Rene Russo who is equally fab and one of the last performances (I think) of the legendary Bill Pullman

Good to not bad audience recording mic on a stand in central position seventh row back but by choice I would take the earlier recording which sounds like a matrix or soundboard to me but was broadcast on BBC Radio so is a FM recording and is uniformly excellent and includes a couple of live tracks from a set in Woburn Abbey, England June 20th 1992
