NOEL GALLAGHER 'TAKES THE JAB'

Noel Gallagher has revealed he has received his first Covid-19 vaccine, while also criticising celebrities who have campaigned for other people to get the jab. The former Oasis guitarist told Radio Times that his doctor told him he would be a "fool" not to get the jab, after he initially turned it down. Noel originally claimed he wasn't afraid of contracting the virus, which has claimed the lives of more than 3.5 million people globally, because he suffered worse symptoms after contracting food poisoning in Mexico.Knob!
To be fair it is somewhat of a relief and to find that even one of the Gallagher brothers does as his Doctor tells him is reassuring . . . .well someone has to!?!

I believe it's called hedging your bets and now all someone needs to do is tell Van Morrison! Eric you can do that can't you!? Even though yours was "disasterous" there are still folks dying . . . .

Brompton Bikes designed by Taylor Hawkins (left) and Nate Mendel respectively.

THE FOO FIGHTERS HAVE DESIGNED Brompton Bicycles!
Foo Fighters are the latest band to design Brompton Bikes for Live Nation's coronavirus charity Crew Nation. Last month, Brompton Bikes announced they will design one-of-a-kind bikes in an effort to raise money for Crew Nation, a global relief fund to support live music crews affected by Covid-19. LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead, Phoebe Bridgers and Rise Against are among those who have designed bikes for the cause. Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins and bassist Nate Mendel have now designed two special Brompton Bikes. Bidding is now open for all 14 bikes on the Greenhouse Auctions website until June 12, with 100 per cent of profits going to Crew Nation.

  PATRICK SKY R.I.P. 1940 - 2021

Patrick Sky, the singer-songwriter, has passed away on May 26 in a hospice in Asheville, North Carolina. He was 80. As Rolling Stone reported, his wife - fellow musician and novelist Cathy Larson Sky - confirmed Sky had succumbed to prostate and bone cancer. He had previously been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2017. Patrick Sky was most known for his highly provocative satirical record 'Songs That Made America Famous', which was recorded in 1971. Fellow musician and friend, Eric Andersen, paid tribute to Sky on May 27. "Patrick Sky the songwriter, singer, and Irish Uilleann bagpipe luthier has left this world into the light from a hospice in Ashville, North Carolina, but didn't leave us for good. Songs are spirits and always remain behind."

Andersen confirmed a long-held rumour: "Heard the rumour just confirmed by your son Liam. Joni Mitchell's song 'Last Time I Saw Richard' on her album 'Blue' was, of course, about you." Born in Georgia, Sky grew up in Louisiana and served in the army before becoming part of Florida's burgeoning folk scene. It was there he met Buffy St Marie and proceeded to move to New York, where he recorded her debut album. Sky was part Creek Indian and part Irish.

  BJ THOMAS R.I.P. 1942 - 2021

BJ Thomas, the Grammy-winning singer who enjoyed success on the pop, country and gospel charts with such hits as "I Just Can't Help Believing," "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" and "Hooked On A Feeling," has died. He was 78. Thomas, who announced in March that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, died from complications of the disease Saturday May 29 at his home in Arlington, Texas, his publicist Jeremy Westby said in a statement. Dionne Warwick, who duetted with Thomas, sent out a tweet Saturday with her condolences. "My sincere condolences to the family of one of my favorite duet partners, BJ Thomas. I will miss him as I know so many others will as well. Rest In Peace my friend," she said. Thomas' signature recording was "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head," a No. 1 pop hit and an Oscar winner for best original song as part of the soundtrack to one of the biggest movies of 1969, the irreverent Western "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."

HOW THE BEATLES SPREAD THEIR INFLUENCE IN INDIA

'The Beatles And India' a new documentary detailing The Beatles' time in India has been announced. Its release will come alongside a companion album that features notable Indian musicians interpreting Beatles tracks. The film features rare archival footage, recordings and photographs, eye-witness accounts and location shoots across India. A press release describes it as "the first serious exploration of how India shaped the development of the greatest ever rock band and their own pioneering role bridging two vastly different cultures".

The film is directed by Ajoy Bose, who also wrote the book 'Across The Universe - The Beatles In India', with co-director Pete Crompton also serving as "cultural researcher". The documentary's accompanying album, 'The Beatles And India: Songs Inspired By The Film', will feature interpretations, by contemporary Indian artists, of Beatles songs that they had been inspired to write from their time in India. The artists include Vishal Dadlani, Kissnuka, Benny Dayal, Dhruv Ghanekar, Karsh Kale, Anoushka Shankar, and Soulmate.

The documentary will premiere on June 6 at the BFI as part of the Tongues On Fire UK Asian Film Festival ahead of a full release in autumn. - Guitar.com

THE LAST WORD on 'DAD LOVES HIS WORK'

"I'll sing (my new songs) to my daughter, who's not my biggest fan. She just cries.

"...I've got some she likes. She really likes 'Shape Of You', the marimba sound is good but she doesn't like anything loud or anything belty."

- Ed Sheeran talking to BBC Radio 1's 'Kids Ask Difficult Questions' segment.

NEW MARILYN MANSON LAWSUIT

A new lawsuit filed against Marilyn Manson by an ex-girlfriend alleges the singer raped her and threatened to kill her. The ex-girlfriend, only identified as Jane Doe, and Manson allegedly met at a pre-Grammy party in 2011. While the relationship was "gentle and romantic" at first, it is claimed it took a violent turn relatively quickly.

This suit follows two previous lawsuits filed against Manson. In April, Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco sued Manson, alleging sexual assault, physical abuse and human trafficking, months after going public with her claims. In May, Manson's former assistant Ashley Walters sued the singer for sexual assault, battery, and harassment. Manson has denied the allegations brought against him in the previous lawsuits.

According to Celebrity Networth, Manson is estimated to be worth US$10 million.
