Now I like the 1975 and was introduced to their work by my daughter and she has followed them from the outset and seen them live frequently so this is for her! The lead singer Matty Healy is from an acting family with his folks stalwarts of UK TV so his stage craft is really considered he is personable, funny and witty and writes intelligent songs (IMHO) and can really sing but the stage presence is well crafted for sure . . . . . their own gigs are elaborate and possessed of clever structures and affects
The 1975 - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-27-2025
Paul says: Here's more from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This time, it's the band The 1975.
I hadn't heard their music before listening to this. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. But I'm posting this here since they got enough votes in the poll I made for the festival. Interestingly, a Vice Magazine article called them both "the most hated and most loved band in the world." If you're unfamiliar, give them a listen and see where your reaction falls.
